About Cubs

Cubs are young people aged 8 to 10½ who:

  • Master new skills and try new things
  • Have fun and go on adventures
  • Make friends
  • Are curious about the world around them
  • Help others and make a difference, in their own communities and beyond

Every week, they gather in groups called Cub Packs to take part in lots of interesting and challenging activities – achieving anything they set their minds to, and having lots of fun along the way.

Tiger Pack meet on a Wednesday 6.30-8.00pm, Lion Pack meet on a Thursday 6.30-8.00pm. Both run with the same programme and attend the same events.

  • Tiger Cub Scout Leader – Peter Carnegie (Akela)
  • Assisted by Mark Gilling (Rama), Elliot Frankland (Baloo)
  • Lion Cub Scout Pack Leader – Peter Carnegie(Akela
  • Assisted by Sandra Carnegie (Raksha), Alex Boulton (Bagheera, Daisy Wilkinson (Kaa)

For the safety of the children we insist that parents/lift shares park on the lane outside of the HQ and walk their Cubs into the Scout HQ.

Parents/liftshares should check if two leaders are present and receive confirmation that it is ok for them to leave.

Likewise when picking up, parents/liftshares should come into the Scout HQ and the Cubs will be handed over to them by a leader.

We also ask parents to respond to emails or notes as soon as possible so that we know the information has been received.

Our leadership team is entirely made up of volunteers who enjoy running Cub meetings!  All adult leaders have training and a DBS check, and there is always at least one adult who is first aid qualified.

If you would like the opportunity to do something you’d never thought of doing, while having lots of fun and giving back to the community at the same time, please get in touch – we can always do with more leaders!
